How much does it cost?

Nothing. The Academy is free for every child. It's a community programme funded by Innovate Prime Ltd, and we provide the laptops.

What will my child actually learn?

Mainly computer skills and AI: confident everyday use of a computer, how AI works, how to use AI tools safely and well, and how to spot when AI is wrong or a picture is fake. Teens also learn to build websites and small apps with AI as a coding partner, and how to repair a laptop.

Is AI safe for children to use?

It can be, with the right guidance, which is why we teach it. Juniors (8–12) don't have their own AI accounts: most AI tools set a minimum age of 13 or older, so a tutor leads and supervises every AI activity. Teens (13–17) only use tools whose terms allow their age, under supervision, and we ask for your consent where a tool requires it. Children never put personal information into AI tools.

Won't AI just do their homework for them?

We teach the opposite: using AI to understand and learn, checking what it says, and being honest about when it was used. Schools increasingly expect students to use AI responsibly, and that's a skill we build.

What ages is it for?

Young people aged 8 to 17, in two groups: Juniors (8–12) and Teens (13–17). Each group has its own content, pitched at the right level.

When and where are the sessions?

We're confirming the venue and timetable now. Register your interest and we'll contact you before the first sessions, and use what families tell us about the best days and times to plan them.

Does my child need any experience?

No. Most children start as beginners. Tell us their experience when you register and we'll make sure they're in the right place, with extra challenges for anyone who's already confident.

Do we need to bring a laptop?

No. We provide a laptop for every child during sessions. Our laptops are refurbished and securely wiped by our sister company, Innovate Prime Renew.

Who will be looking after my child?

Our tutors and volunteers all hold enhanced DBS checks, and sessions follow our safeguarding policy. Groups are small, with at most 12 children.

My child has additional needs. Can they come?

Yes, and we want them to. Tick the box on the registration form and we'll call you to talk about how we can support them. We don't ask for medical details online.

What happens after I register?

You'll get an email confirming your registration. Before sessions start we'll contact you to offer a place and send an enrolment form for emergency contacts, medical information and photo consent.

Can I change or delete our details?

Yes, at any time. Email hello@innovateprime.co.uk or reply to your confirmation email and we'll update or delete them.
