Computer and AI skills for the world they're growing up in

Children learn in small groups of up to 12, with a tutor who knows their name and their progress. Every topic ends in something they've made.

Ages 8–12

Juniors

Confident computer skills, a clear understanding of what AI is, and safe, smart habits for growing up with it.

Each child finishes a creative project and can explain what AI is, what it's good at, and how to use it safely.

Juniors don't have their own AI accounts. Most AI tools set a minimum age of 13 or older, so AI activities are led and supervised by a tutor.

  1. Computer confidence

Keyboard and mouse skills, typing, saving and finding files, and getting comfortable on a laptop.

  2. What is AI?

How computers learn from examples. Children teach a simple model to recognise pictures, then see where it goes wrong.

  3. AI: smart and safe

AI can be wrong or make things up. Spotting fake pictures, checking facts, and never sharing personal information.

  4. Creating with AI

Tutor-led projects using AI to help make stories, pictures and ideas, with the child as the creator in charge.

  5. First steps in coding

Making things move and react with simple block coding, to understand how computers follow instructions.

Ages 13–17

Teens

The computer and AI skills employers and colleges now expect, including how to build real things with AI as a coding partner.

Each teen leaves with practical AI and computer skills and a finished project for their CV or college application.

Teens only use AI tools whose terms allow their age, under supervision, and we ask for your consent where a tool requires it.

  1. Computer skills for life

Documents, spreadsheets, presentations, email and cloud storage, plus fixing common problems yourself.

  2. Using AI well

Writing good prompts, using AI for research and study, checking what it tells you, and using it honestly for schoolwork.

  3. How AI works

Data, training and why AI makes mistakes. Bias, fairness, and the big questions AI raises for society.

  4. Coding with AI

Building websites and small apps with an AI assistant, and learning to read, test and fix the code it writes.

  5. Inside a computer

Taking apart, testing and repairing real laptops refurbished by Innovate Prime Renew.

  6. Staying safe: cyber security and deepfakes

Protecting accounts and devices, spotting scams and AI-generated fakes, and responsible behaviour online.

  7. Careers in AI and tech

What jobs in AI and technology involve, with a finished project to show colleges and employers.
